# Follow a Trader

> Save traders you want to track without turning on copy trading yet.

Following gives you a lightweight way to keep track of traders before you decide whether to copy them.

It does **not** automatically mirror their trades.

## Follow from Discover

1. Open **Copy traders**.
2. Stay on the **Discover** tab.
3. Review the trader's P\&L, ROI, volume, and account value.
4. Select **Follow** on the trader row.

The trader will then be available from your **Following** view.

## Follow a specific address

If you already know the wallet you want to track, use **Follow address** or search for the address directly.

This avoids relying on the ranked discovery list.

## Why follow first?

Copy trading removes some of the friction between another trader's decision and your own account.

Following first gives you time to answer a few questions:

* How often does this trader open positions?
* Are their positions usually short-term or long-term?
* Does their risk level fit yours?
* How volatile is their P\&L?
* Do you still want to copy after watching more than one trade?

## Following vs Auto-copy

| Following | Auto-copy |
| ---------------------------- | -------------------------------------- |
| Tracks the trader | Can mirror eligible activity |
| No automatic trade execution | Can create exposure in your account |
| Useful for research | Requires copy settings and risk limits |
| Easy first step | Should only be enabled after review |

## Review your Following list

Open the **Following** tab whenever you want to return to saved traders.

From there you can continue monitoring activity and decide whether a trader should remain followed, be removed, or move into your auto-copy setup.
