# Getting Started

> Set up your Leap account, add funds, learn the dashboard, and find your first market.

You do not need to learn every part of Leap before your first trade. Start with the account, understand where your balance lives, then learn the few screens you will use most.

## The basic flow

1. **Create or access your account** Sign in with email, Google, or an existing wallet. Leap creates a separate self-custodial wallet for your account.
2. **Fund your account** If you connected a wallet, enter a deposit amount and select **Review deposit**, or transfer to your generated Leap wallet address. Supported card options may also be available.
3. **Check your Overview** This is where your portfolio, performance, positions, watchlist, and market highlights come together.
4. **Find a market** Search or browse markets from Explore.
5. **Choose Simple or Pro** Simple is the quickest path into a trade. Pro gives you the full trading workspace.
6. **Review before you submit** Check direction, size, leverage, margin mode, order settings, and any take-profit or stop-loss instructions before placing an order.

## New to perpetuals?

Start in **Simple** mode. The interface keeps the trade direction, amount, leverage, margin, and order settings in one panel without the extra market data you see in Pro.

You can move to Pro later without changing accounts.

## Already trading onchain?

You can use your existing wallet to access a new Leap self-custodial wallet, fund it, and then use **Pro Trading**. The Pro screen gives you candlestick charts, order book and recent trades, market/limit/conditional orders, cross-margin settings, leverage, reduce-only controls, TP/SL, funding data, and account activity.

## In this section
